"Occasionally one finds a story that is so easy to read that the pages are joyfully consumed, and I found just that in Sopdet, the second book in the Egyptian Lover series. Although I had not read the first in the series, I was not confused and easily comprehended what was happening. The plot is complex, yet I wasn't baffled by the details or bored by the intricacies. I loved Carson, who is a strong female that isn't willing to take anything for granted. She fights for what she believes in and is strong in spirit. Sopdet is slightly dark of character, due to his battle with the need for blood, but his desire for Carson kept me eagerly devouring the pages.
